Crazy things

Sometimes i do things that i think are crazy things.

I have a stacked washer/dryer in the kitchen. Two things have bugged me about it since i moved in: the dryer vent was poorly connected to the outside and it never seemed level so it shook while operating. So i decided to remedy these issues.

I had no idea what i was getting into when i started. Three hours later i had learned several things. The only way to get a proper look at the legs of a stackable unit is to lay it down or pick it up. I laid it down, being unable to pick it up. I learned that the legs on the rear of the unit are supposed to move in opposition to each other and sometimes one gets stuck. Kicking them alternately works to get 'em moving again. I learned that the best time to connect the vent ducting to the outside is when the damn unit is out of the way. Most importantly i learned that i can lay down and pick up a stackable unit with a minimum of heavy breathing, while concentrating on using my legs.

Now it is pretty damn level and free from rocking.

Yay.

  1. 1. I think your explanations need a video.

    2. If you vent your dryer into your place it will smell like fresh laundry, just in case you were looking for an alternative to the typical fragrance of coffee and righteous indignation of all things obnoxious.
